DR. TANAEYA C BURCH

Tanaeya is an active and registered Physiotherapist. She graduated from Andrews University, in 2003, with a Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy. She went on to work at Florida Hospital (South) in Orlando, Fl. before returning home to Bermuda in 2004. On return, she worked at KEMH in various areas for over 7 years. She prides herself on the proposal and initiation of the current Lymphedema Clinic, which opened in 2006. Tanaeya was one of the first fully certified Lymphedema therapists on island. Her commitment to her profession has afforded Tanaeya the opportunity to sit on the Board of Physiotherapy and represent the profession as the Chairman of the Bermuda Physiotherapy Association (BPA). These roles have allowed Tanaeya to represent her profession in many countries at annual North American Caribbean Region (NACR) meetings.

Tanaeya has always had an interest in all things women’s health thus leading her to obtain her advanced training in Women’s Pelvic Floor Essentials and provide patients with Pelvic Floor Rehabilitation. Her desire to provide the best for her Bermudian community encouraged Tanaeya to obtain her ‘STAR’ Clinician certification. With this, she can service our local cancer population with Oncology Rehabilitation. She holds additional training in acupuncture, cupping and kinesiotape application.

Entrepreneurship was instilled in Tanaeya from a young age and she always knew that she would one day start her own business. The establishment of InTouch Therapy, in 2012, saw this dream come to fruition. A unique, out-patient clinic where patient received hands-on, evidence based treatment, in a safe environment, was her goal. Helping people is Tanaeya’s passion and she enjoys treating a wide variety of injuries. Tanaeya is married to her high school sweetheart, Lorenzo, and she has 2 daughters, Mylah and Sarai.
